Course Overview

1.   Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to lead implementation of AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001:2023, with Overview on

ª  ISO 19011 – Guidelines for auditing management system standards,

ª  ISO/IEC 17021-1, and ISO/IEC 42006:2025

2. Note:

ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is an International Management system, not a Technical Specification; it does NOT address any mandatory requirements towards wide-ranging A.I. technicalities such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, LLM, Data Quality, AI Agent etc., hence the Training covers ‘Management system aspects’ ONLY, not the technicalities.

Each Training Day ends with a ‘Day’s Summary’, and from Day-2 onwards, the training starts with a Recap each Training Day

Day 1

1.     Introduction to the course, role of ISO, Geneva, Evolution of AIMS

2.     Overview: Process Approach, PDCA Cycle, Annex SL/HLS, Risk-based Thinking, Risk-based Approach, Documented Information, Processes of Certification and Accreditation, and Certification cycle

3.     Overview on

a) Governance of organizations

b) I.T. Governance, c) Governance Framework and model

d) A.I. Governance Framework and

e) OECD Principles of Governance Framework

4.     Overview: ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Requirements including Annexures A, B, C and D

5.     Key Terms and Definitions, Activity # 1: Mapping of Terms and Definitions

6.     Understanding Context of the organization

7.      Activity-2: Understanding Context of organization

8.     Understanding Leadership, AIMS Policy

9.     Activity-3: Preparation of AIMS Policy

Day 2

1.     Understanding ‘actions to address risks and opportunities’

2.     Activity-4: Prepare ‘AI Risk Treatment - Statement of Applicability (SoA)

3.     Understanding ‘AIMS AI system Impact Assessment’

4.     Activity-5: Carry out ‘AI System Impact Assessment’ (Duration: 120 minutes)

5.     Understanding ‘Support’ (Resources, Competence, Awareness, Communication, and Documented Information)

6.     Activity-6: Documented Information, Maintained and Retained

7.     Activity-7: Documented Information, (Apex Manual, Procedures, SOPs etc.,)

Day 3

1.        Understanding Performance Evaluation

2.        Understanding Nonconformity, Corrective Action and Continual Improvement

3.        Activity-8: Preparation of ‘Minutes of Management Review’ by Top Management

4.        Overview of ISO 19011:2018, Guidelines for auditing management system standards

5.        Understanding ‘Audit Criteria, Audit Scope, and Audit Objective’

6.        Activity-9: Understanding Audit Criteria, Audit Scope, and Audit Objective

Activity-10: Mapping ‘Terms and Definitions’ of ISO 19011:2018

Day 4

1.     Concept of Stage-1, and Stage-2 audits, Audit Planning details

2.     Activity-11: Review of audit plan

3.     Understanding the purpose and structure of Audit Checklist

4.     Opening Meeting, Audit Methods, Types of audit findings

5.     NCR (Nonconformity Report), Audit Findings, Audit Conclusions, Corrective action

Activity-12: Generation of Nonconformity Report, NCR

Day 5

1.     Closing Meeting

2.     Activity-13: Complete cycle of ‘Corrective action review and Audit Follow up’

3.     Outline on Audit Report

4.     Implementation approaches, Organizational Change Management, OCM, Developing Business Case, Baseline Assessment/Gap Analysis, Challenges in implementation, post-implementation initiatives

5.     Implementation Roadmap (1) covering Stage-1 and Stage-2, creating AI Use Cases

6.     Implementation Roadmap (2): Prepare Project Plan (Activity-14)

7.     Overview: EU AI Act, and how ISO/IEC 42001 supports implementing EU AI Act

8.     Course Review/Revision, and Final examination: Open Book, Descriptive responses
