WQD-An Initiative by United Nations

In TCB we believe the purpose of Quality is delight customers with the features of the products and services they receive.  A Quality product ensures Safety of people and safeguards investment, quality products is meant to safeguards environment from adverse effects. A quality product is the first and foremost thing in developing a business and sustained growth. It is the right of the buyers to get quality product and obligation of the seller to deliver this. Quality of product and services offered by an organization brings respect, boost morale of individuals, organizations and Nations.

Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) has been celebrating World Quality Month in Japan since 1960 by organizing events in collaboration with Japanese Standards Association (JSA), Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), and other bodies like The Japanese Society for Quality Control (JSQC), The Japan Productivity Center (JPC), Quality Engineering Society (QES), to name a leading few.

In 1989 by the corporate world organizations such as Quality Organizations of Europe , USA  and Japan  took an initiative to  float the idea of  'World Quality Day' which the United Nations took up to promote the importance of quality. With the involvement of world quality organizations, every year it is celebrated with a particular motto and this year is the twenty fourth anniversary.

World Quality Day was promulgated by the United Nations in 1990 to raise international awareness of the important role quality plays in ensuring nations' prosperity. World Quality Day is observed all over the world on the second Thursday in November each year. This will be 12th November this year. WQD helps to raise awareness throughout the business community around the world. It enhances awareness of quality internationally, encourages individuals and organizations to focus on the importance of quality to ensure growth and prosperity. This creates an opportunity to demonstrate the commitment of people and organizations towards business Excellence through Quality. irca approved lead auditor courses

What is Quality and Management System?

Quality is defined as the degree to which a product or service characteristics, features meets customers’ requirements and conforms to established standards of performance. It is the totality of features that makes a product or Service that customers wants to have to have a delightful experience. A great quality product become a proud procession. These are those features what makes a "wow, what a wonderful product!”

A product of consistent level of quality cannot be achieved by accident. As William A Foster said, “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.” Quality management outlines the management process formanaging the product or service quality with right intention, looking at customers’ needs or expectation, designed and developed and offered on time, even support after customer received the product. This systematic way of managing business is really Quality Management system is all about. ISO 9001:2008 is one of the most versatile and used standard that specifies requirements on Quality management system. How to Achieve and Realize the Expectations of the WQD?

Quality is a journey that has to commence towards building a nation–WQD presents this opportunity. Efforts are needed to create awareness on the importance of Quality. Involvement of People is essential towards achieving the objectives of any organizations. Organization needs customer focus, it needs Leadership. Constant efforts is needed to highlight importance of understanding customer’s requirements, customer's expectations  and how important it is for everyone to perform their tasks in a manner that they contribute towards achieving customerdelight. This must be  an organization wide cultural shift or awakening -it’s not a singular department that can produce quality or assure it -its synergized efforts of every department or business units of the organization to achieve it quality objective to make a product to delight the customer and achieve market leadership and which will take it to the top. One or few great organizations will not do, we need every single organization, small and large to have the same resolve-to create a national identity, a perception of a quality nation. Our people will have to do this-and to this end, WQD also demands individual leadership and commitment to enlighten the image of our organizations and our nation. This gives us our theme for 2015, “Build a Quality Nation”.
